End of the day and we thought the wiring was all done but when my lights didn't work, we realized we had used a plug that broke the circuit in the spare room. So one more job by lamplight.

Not an "artistic" photo but one to represent a small portion of how I spent my day, reading The Fire by Katherine Neville. I finished this book and plan to keep track of my reading list for 2010. Not a recommendation however, but this is a sequel to "The Eight" which is a great story if you enjoyed the puzzle/code aspect of the DaVinci Code and want a strong female heroine to read about.

85 hours to go before I'm in the air and on my way to London. Put that way - it is clearly impossible for me to be "ready" by then. Sure, I can throw clothes in a bag, rip pages out of the guidebooks, and grab my camera and passport (no comments please, family) - but I may leave a few loose ends back this way. So I'm making the list - and doing what I can... Blogging about this is NOT on the list so that's it for now.

Flashback - I remember playing with my Spirograph - drawing out kaleidescopes with different sized rings. Here's a fun website to revisit the experience!

A fun word game using dropping scrabble tiles - Deep Leap. The letters drop down into a row. You create words to use up the letters and see the number of tiles counting down. If you can't find a word before the row fills, you may have a letter shift off the screen to allow a new letter to drop and you will no longer be able to use it. Tricky but fun... just make sure you don't end up with a line of vowels like I did!!

Fun with time lapse photography in different locations - drag the triangle around the circle to view "Their Circular Life".
Check out artPad - Paint, splatter and add text to your masterpiece.

Long time between posts but the new position at work and a miserable home computer have kept me away. I'm back now!

The latest site I've been playing with is 43 things, a social network to inspire productivity. I love the feature of having emails from my past self sent to remind me of the goals I'm working on. I'm going to spend some time moving my GTD (more on this later) "Someday/Maybe" list onto this tool. More fun tools at the related allconsuming site. Keep your list of DVDs to rent, books to read and more at this site.

Found this one on a site for developing ESL teachers. I'm no game player, so I can't do this at all but maybe you can keep this guy on the tightrope and if you are really good, try to actually get some points!

Well, someone actually read my blog!

okay, the truth is that they read it a year less two days ago. It's probably a case of "What have you done for me lately?"

Therefore, I hereby resolve to spend more time updating the foolish links I enjoy so much so that Easternblog will come back and visit sometime. Maybe I can find her another link to enjoy as much as she liked Piggy and Puppy.

thankyou.

Okay... finally a new game! This one is Japanese and you just need to keep your eye on the box which the arrow is pointing to as the boxes get shuffled around. See you you can win at 8up!

19 July 2003

Googlewhacked again... this time it was "randomizer begonia". Makes no sense but only generated one listing on a google search so it official classifies as a "whack".
Just in case I hadn't posted this before... I had run across the idea of geocaching over a year ago now and still have yet to try it. Lack of a GPS tracker is the biggest stumbling block. It sounds like great fun! Check this site out if you haven't discovered this hobby yet!
Gentle games for gentle folks at Orisinal. Try catching bumblebees in bubbles or avoiding puffer fish as you float in the ocean!

Okay, 6 months between blogs is a little more than I would have liked... but there it is. It's not like anyone out there is looking at this, I mean, it's just a dumping place for the odds and ends of my web surfing so that I can find something if I want to share it with someone away from my home computer. And it seems to be my insomnia project... time for bed!
For the day when you need to send a wafflehouse e-card accompanied by 80's new wave midi, just go to Daveweb's Wafflehouse Web Cards.
Here's another site for my nephews. Keep the soccer ball in the air. I think it helps if you make the same sounds as the insane person babbling in the background. Try it.
Gallery of Regrettable Food. What more needs to be said?

Yeah!!! I found some Hancock's Half Hour and Goon show episodes on the web. If anyone knows of other online sources, please pass them along. They make me smile!
If you ever need to travel light, check out the One Bag website. I can't believe that it would ever be within my reach... I can fill my car just for a weekend to the mountains, but with my current trip to Asia, I am going to try to glean some wisdom from this advice!
